Torii Mor 2005 Olson Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir

Torii Mor 2005 La Colina Vineyard Pinot Noir 90 pts - "The juice is sharp and spicy, with some baking spice and cinnamon livening up the back of the palate. The fruit flavors suggest boysenberry and blackberry, set up against stiff acids and earthy tannins. Young and still a little rough around the edges, this distinctive bottling should be cellared for a few years and could go as long as a decade or more." -P.G. Wine Enthusiast |
Torii Mor 2005 Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir![]() 90 pts - "Lithe and polished, with a whiff of gaminess to add an intriguing edge to the soft, ripe cherry and guava flavors, persisting well through the finish. Best from 2008 through 2013. 200 cases made." -H.S. Wine Spectator |
Torii Mor 2005 Hawks View Vineyard Pinot Noir![]() 90 pts - "Crisp and nicely focused to show its bright red currant and blackberry flavors, shaded with hints of mint and cream around the edges. Remains focused and pure through the long, expressive finish. Drink now through 2013. 265 cases made." -H.S. Wine Spectator |
Torii Mor 2005 "La Cuillere" Member's Reserve Pinot Noir 90 pts - "A blend of seven different vineyards, the name is French for spoon. This is a softer, less tannic wine than most of the other Torii Mor 2005s, but is not quite what you would call silky. Mixed red fruits, light scents suggesting flower as well as berry, and a feminine elegance characterize this Pinot. It’s been carefully crafted to emphasize the subtle herbs and spices, without hiding behind the more obvious flavors of new oak." -P.G. Wine Enthusiast |
Torii Mor 2005 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Editor's Choice- 89 pts - "The black label Torii Mor Pinot is often as good, if not better, than the single-vineyard bottlings. Although the price keeps creeping higher, it’s fair and this 2005 is an excellent rendition. It offers fruit flavors that are ripe but not sweet or jammy, nice details of herb and root, and suggestions of moist earth and black tea. If you believe in modest (13.5% here) levels of alcohol in your Pinots, this one should ring your bell." -P.G. Wine Enthusiast |
Torii Mor 2004 Hawks View Vineyard Pinot Noir![]() 91 pts - "Lithe, supple and seamless. Immensely appealing for its raspberry, strawberry and red cherry flavors, finishing with beautifully integrated tannins. The fruit persists impressively. Drink now through 2014. 225 cases made." -H.S. Wine Spectator |
Torii Mor 2004 Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir![]() 92 pts - "Marvelous depth and concentration of cherry, spice and tangy, slightly earthy overtones characterize this Pinot, but the chewy tannins might put some fans off. Give it a few years to settle into itself. Best ater 2009. 171 cases made." -H.S. Wine Spectator |
Torii Mor 2004 "Deux Verres" Reserve Pinot Noir![]() 91 pts - "Lithe and spicy, with distinct pink peppercorn and cinnimon notes weaving through the dense cherry and fresh orange peel flavors as they glide smoothly through the finish. Has depth and elegance. Best from 2008 through 2016. 612 cases made." -H.S. Wine Spectator |
|
Torii Mor 2002 Temperance Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir![]() 90 pts - "Firm in texture around a supple core of red cherry, raspberry and cocoa butter flavors, which linger on the impeccably balanced finish. Best from 2006 through 2012." -H.S. Wine Spectator |

91 pts - "It’s a pleasure to taste Oregon Pinot from vines this old; they have a certain grace and sensuous elegance that the young vines can’t muster. Beautiful aromas are complex with mixed fruits, hints of mushroom and dried leaves. It’s a silky, nicely defined wine that should age along Burgundian lines." -P.G. Wine Enthusiast
