The 2007 Hawks View Vineyard Pinot Noir has a rich aroma, first of flowers, like violets, then as the wine is exposed to more air, a mix of raspberries, red cherries, boysenberries and earth notes. The flavors are of raspberries, red cherries and some dark cherries/boysenberries, earthiness followed by herb spices and very light oak notes. The wine has great acid presence, showcasing the elegant, forward fruit. The mouth-feel is soft, sweet and elegant, with just a touch of sweet tannins. The aftertaste is fruit rich and sweet with layers of mostly red and some dark fruits, earth notes, cedar-oak notes and light spiciness. The wine has a weightless texture, with soft tannins that fill the mouth and amplify the aftertaste. This wine will benefit from extended cellaring but can be enjoyed today!
